🚀 ClearPoint Next 6 Release Highlights!

Hey there,

We’re excited to announce ClearPoint Next version 6! This release includes performance enhancements, deeper improvements to System Setup and Manage Pages, and additional groundwork for improved navigation, exports, and group permissions. We've also resolved a number of key issues—paving the way for a smoother, more reliable CP Next experience.

Here’s what’s new:


✨ Newly Available in CP Next

🧾 Usage Reports Now Available

Admins and Scorecard Admins can now download usage reports for:

  • Scorecards & Elements – Get a Last Updated summary across your scorecards and their elements
  • Custom Fields – See where and how your custom fields are used
  • Briefing Books & HTML Templates – Track last run dates, owners, and usage counts

All reports can be downloaded directly from their respective manage pages and are also delivered to your Alerts tab and email inbox.

📎 Documents: Files, Images & Attachments Pages

You can now manage documents more easily in CP Next through new centralized pages:

  • Attachments – View and download any files added to an element’s attachment field
  • Images – View and manage images uploaded throughout your account
  • Files – Explore all uploaded files, along with metadata like associated elements and upload date

These pages are accessible from the Documents area and support full download, delete, and upload controls.

🛠️ System Setup Enhancements

We’ve continued improving System Setup with more functionality and polish for each of the Admin pages:

  • Manage Users – Add/edit users, set scorecard permissions, configure homepages, and track activity
  • Groups & Permissions – Create access rules and assign multiple groups with per-element access
  • Reporting Periods – Now displays period status indicators (Locked, Archived, Hidden, etc.)
  • Reporting Frequencies – Delete and restore frequencies with confirmation
  • Fiscal Years – Add/edit/delete fiscal years with visual tag improvements for dark/light mode

📊 Export Enhancements

We’ve restored and refined export functionality for detail and report pages:

  • PDF Export now respects layout settings like page size and orientation (as in CP Classic)
  • “Export to Excel” is now available for Measures and Reports
  • Email reports now include options for page settings and scheduled delivery

  • Fixed 404 errors when switching scorecards via top bar, left nav, or Manage Scorecards
  • Scorecard home buttons now redirect correctly based on user role and context

  • Sort order changes on Manage Reports, Scorecards, and Elements pages now save correctly

  • Grid row hover colors now respect theme after dark/light mode changes

  • Fixed bugs where editing a group rule created duplicates instead of updating
  • Deleting one unsaved rule no longer removes all draft rules
  • Rules now respect classic logic (e.g., scorecard vs element-level permission options)
  • "Hidden Scorecard" UI clarified and rule editor sequence improved

⚙️ System Setup

  • Editing reporting periods, frequencies, and fiscal years no longer triggers 404 errors

The System Setup area continues to grow! This release adds more tools and updates to help admins configure the account. Admins can now preview the setting overviews for:

  • 🎨 Customizations – Personalize fields, labels, charts, and visual styles.
  • 🔌 Integration – Set up and manage connections with external systems and data sources.

👥 Manage Users: New Scorecard & Homepage Tab

🧾 User Access Reports (Exportable)

Admins can now export detailed reports of user access and user activity. These reports are downloadable to Excel and show up under “My Exports” once ready.

Admins can now export the most recent 10,000 logs from the Revision History page, providing a complete snapshot of account-wide changes for auditing or analysis.

The Element Revision History also supports reverting individual field changes—so you can undo errors or easily recover from unwanted updates.

    View a table of resource allocations across users and milestones with monthly and FTE breakdowns.
  • Percent Complete Rollups
    Smarter rollup logic automatically calculates % complete at the Initiative level without relying on calculated fields.
  • Critical Path View
    Highlight tasks that form the critical path in your Gantt charts for clearer schedule impact analysis.

🗃️ Reporting Workflow Enhancements

Reporting workflows now:

  • Display sent status and scheduled send date for each scheduled email
  • Include element type icons in task lists for easier identification
  • Show task completion more cleanly in the chart (labels won’t overlap anymore)
  • Properly filter and restore lists when using the user filter
  • Let you assign an owner automatically, and sync owner updates between CP Current and CP Next
  • Display sent status more meaningfully (“Sent (3 of 3)” or recipient count)

📈 Gantt Chart: Now Project-Ready

Big strides in Gantt functionality:

  • Inline editing and drag-and-drop are now supported!
  • Dependencies between milestones now update correctly in detail pages and Gantt reports
  • Owners now display properly in columns
  • “Show Baselines” no longer returns invalid errors
  • Status icons now display by default
  • Options persist across refreshes (or can be set as system defaults)
  • Improved constraints, auto-scheduling, baseline behavior, and date controls

Note: You’ll need to reach out to your Account Manager or Support to enable the “Advanced Project Management” features and access baseline and dependency tracking in full.

📄 HTML & Briefing Books

Briefing Books and HTML exports now:

  • Include period selectors and recipient options when generating a report
  • Display contents correctly across the Scorecards and Contents tabs
  • Retain formatting and linked element selections reliably after saving
  • Display cleaner layouts (spacing, headers, and footers improved)
  • Avoid blank pages during export

🧾 Manage Pages & Detail Page Polish

  • No more duplicate view names—Manage Pages will now prevent it
  • Custom names (e.g., renaming Risks to something else) now display correctly in the left nav and Manage Pages
  • Completed Date and Attachments pods behave properly across all layouts
  • “Favorites” now correctly reflect per-element, not per-element-type
  • Views now support properly assigning sort order on import
  • Filter toggles now reset correctly when disabled and removed
  • Series View now allows period columns to be added or removed again
  • Pod styling now editable in Workspaces too
  • Layout editing terminology is now standardized—say hello to “Customize Layout” mode across all layout types

📊 Reports

  • Scorecard duplication now works as intended—no more disappearing copies
  • Upload Edits modal’s close (“×”) button works again
  • You can now update measure statuses on new measures as expected
  • Objective Score now displays again
  • Grid reports now respect layout settings, like Category grouping and full-width columns
  • Top edit icon now behaves consistently across Summary and Detail pages

📊 Charts & Strategy Maps

  • Gauge charts now default to “Current Period” like in Classic
  • Charts now display as expected across layouts and detail pages
  • Strategy Map defaults now correctly reflect the active scorecard
  • Status indicators on diagrams now update with period changes

📁 Platform Stability

  • Scorecards deleted during provisioning no longer retain ghost homepages
  • Accounts like Federal Group Way now load as expected with redirect logic corrected
  • Gantt charts no longer throw baseline errors due to missing dates
  • Edit behavior is now more predictable across the board (e.g., save button availability, default labels)
